YUSUKE WAKATA
1995年愛媛県生まれ。2021年東京藝術大学大学院デザイン専攻を修了。「未来のための"問い"をつくる」ことをテーマとしながらグラフィック・プロダクト・空間デザイン・アートの領域を超えて様々なプロジェクトを行う。都市や社会に潜む矛盾や未解決のテーマを可視化し、鑑賞者に思考の余白を投げかける表現を探求している。これ までにNY WhiteBoxでの個展を開催するなど、世界各地で作品を発表。ストリートアートを通じて都市と鑑賞者の関係性を再考するなど、多様な場に応じて表現の形式を変容させてきた。NARITA ART RUNWAY グランプリ、TOKYO MIDTOWN AWARD グランプリ、グッドデザイン賞、ヤングカンヌ シルバーなど、国内外で数々の賞を受賞している。
Born in Ehime in 1995. Completed an MFA in Design at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2021.Working under the theme of “creating questions for the future,” he engages in diverse projects that transcend the boundaries of graphic, product, spatial design, and art. His practice explores ways of visualizing contradictions and unresolved issues embedded in cities and society, offering viewers room for reflection and thought.He has presented works internationally, including a solo exhibition at WhiteBox in New York. By rethinking the relationship between city and audience through street art, he has adapted his modes of expression to a variety of contexts.He has received numerous awards both in Japan and abroad, including the Grand Prix at NARITA ART RUNWAY, the Grand Prize at the TOKYO MIDTOWN AWARD, the Good Design Award, and a Silver at the Young Cannes.

歩み続けるキャリーケース。円形のキャンバスの上を、あてもなく旅するように軌跡を残してゆく。 そこに現れる青い模様は、心許ない気配を帯びながらも、静かに広がっていく。生きるために必要な最小限を詰め込み、漂うように動き続けるこの容器は、小さな私の投影だ。 ボードリヤールは、旅を「消失点（vanishing point）へと向かうもの」と語った。決して辿り着けないその先には、触れることのできない中心がある。どこへ向かうのかも、なぜ進むのかも確かではない。ただ繰り返される軌跡は、現代を生きる私たちの未完のリアルを静かに映し出している。
A suitcase that keeps moving continuously. Across the circular canvas, it leaves traces as if wandering aimlessly on a journey.The blue patterns that emerge carry a faint sense of uncertainty, yet they spread quietly.Packed only with the bare minimum needed to survive, this drifting container is a projection of my small self.Baudrillard once described travel as “a movement toward the vanishing point.”Beyond that unreachable destination lies a center that can never be touched.Where it is headed, or why it continues to move, remains uncertain.Yet the endlessly repeated trajectory quietly reflects the unfinished reality of our lives today.
